Jackson Heights Middle School

Jackson Heights Middle School is located along the scenic route of Oviedo’s historic downtown district and is part of “A”rated Seminole County Public Schools.

JHMS guides children from grades 6-8 and nurtures curiosity, success, and community. Once they’ve completed their education at Jackson, depending on their zoning, will either go to Oviedo High School or Hagerty High School.

“Our mission is to personalize education for individual student success.”

Jackson Heights Middle School is noted for its student’s high PSAT scores. It offers children the abilities to go above and beyond their regular school courses. Students can earn high school credit in courses, such as Spanish 1, Algebra 1 Honors, Geometry Honors, and Ecology. The school’s standardized science score tests remain high among its Florida peers, sitting proudly at 25th in the state. The school also has an extremely competitive state, national, and world robotics team.

The JHMS performing arts is also a competitive force to be reckoned with. At their district’s competition, their solo and ensemble band performances received a combined 218 Superiors, the highest rank you can receive.
